Understanding Our Dogs at Belbon Oodles

At Belbon Oodles, we specialise in ethically bred, family-raised companion dogs. Our focus is on producing Cavoodles and Havoodles with exceptional temperament, sound health and suitability for modern family life.

This page explains the differences between Cavoodle generations, Ultra Cavoodles, and Havoodles, helping you make an informed and confident choice for your family.

What Is a Cavoodle?

A Cavoodle is a cross between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Poodle. Cavoodles are well known for their affectionate nature, intelligence and adaptability to family homes.

All Belbon Oodles Cavoodles are:

Bred from health-tested parents

Raised in home environments

Selected for temperament and wellbeing

Understanding Cavoodle Generations

Cavoodle generations refer to how many generations a puppy is removed from the original Cavalier × Poodle cross. Multi-generational breeding allows for greater consistency in temperament, size and coat type.

First Generation (F1 Cavoodle)

An F1 Cavoodle is a direct cross between a purebred Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a purebred Poodle.

Typical traits:

Greater variation in coat and size

Soft, friendly temperament

Less predictability than later generations

An F1B Cavoodle is usually an F1 Cavoodle crossed back to a Poodle.

Often chosen for:

Lower-shedding, curlier coats

Increased coat predictability

Retained Cavoodle personality

Multi-Generational Cavoodles

Multi-generational Cavoodles are bred from Cavoodle to Cavoodle over several generations.

Benefits include:

More consistent size and coat

Predictable temperament

Carefully refined family-friendly traits

At Belbon Oodles, our multi-generational Cavoodles are bred for calmness,
confidence and emotional balance.

What Is an Ultra Cavoodle?

An Ultra Cavoodle is a carefully refined multi-generational Cavoodle, selectively
bred over several generations with a strong emphasis on:

Consistent, calm temperament

Predictable size and coat

Reduced shedding

Long-term health outcomes

Ultra Cavoodles are not a separate breed, but rather the result of intentional,
ethical breeding practices designed to stabilise the traits families love most in Cavoodles.

What Is a Havoodle?

A Havoodle is a cross between a Havanese and a Poodle.

Havoodles are known for being:

Social and people-focused

Intelligent and eager to learn

Well suited to family and companion homes

As with all Belbon Oodles dogs, our Havoodles are bred from health-tested
parents and raised in loving home environments.

Why Breeding & Generation Matter

While every dog is an individual, breeding type and generation can influence:

Coat type and shedding

Size consistency

Temperament predictability

Our role is to guide families toward the dog that best suits their lifestyle,
expectations and household — not to promote one type as “better” than another.

What All Belbon Oodles Dogs Have in Common

Every dog bred at Belbon Oodles shares the same core values:

Ethical, small-scale breeding

Health-tested parent dogs

Home-raised with early socialisation

Temperament-first approach

Ongoing support for our families
