Belbon Oodles Guardian Program
Ethical Breeding

Raising Exceptional Oodles in Loving Family Homes
At Belbon Oodles, we are committed to ethical, home-raised breeding practices that prioritise the health, temperament and wellbeing of every dog. Our Guardian Program allows approved families to welcome a beautiful dog into their home without paying a purchase price, while partnering with us to support responsible breeding in a family environment.
Our guardian dogs are raised as cherished pets — never kennelled — ensuring they grow into confident, well-adjusted companions and produce healthy, well-socialised puppies.

What Is a Guardian Dog Program?
A guardian dog program places breeding dogs into carefully selected family homes rather than kennel environments. The dog lives full-time with her guardian family, enjoying normal family life, while remaining part of our breeding program for a limited time.
This ethical approach allows Belbon Oodles to raise happy, healthy Cavoodles, King Charles Cavaliers and Havanese in real homes — creating better outcomes for dogs and puppies alike.

Our Guardian Dogs
Our guardian girls may be:
-
Cavoodles
-
King Charles Cavaliers
-
Havanese
Each dog is chosen based on temperament, health testing and suitability for family living. Every placement is thoughtfully matched to ensure a long-term, positive experience for both dog and family.

Cost & Training Requirements
Guardian families do not pay a purchase price for their guardian dog.
To ensure consistency, structure and excellent manners, all guardian dogs must complete a 28-day Stay & Train program with our professional trainer. This program focuses on:
-
Foundational obedience training
-
Socialisation and confidence building
-
Household manners and routine
The cost of the 28-day Stay & Train program is paid by the guardian family.

Breeding & Care Responsibilities
Guardian families are responsible for:
-
Daily care, feeding and exercise
-
Grooming and basic training
-
Routine veterinary care and ongoing maintenance cost
-
Pet Insurance
Belbon Oodles covers all breeding-related costs, including:
-
Genetic and health testing
-
Breeding management
-
Pregnancy, whelping and reproductive veterinary care
All breeding arrangements are planned in advance, with clear communication and minimal disruption to family life.

Guardian Family Benefits
As part of our Guardian Program, families receive:
-
$100 reimbursement per puppy born to their guardian dog
-
Payment provided following each litter
This acknowledges the time, care and commitment guardian families provide throughout their dog’s breeding career.

Retirement & Full Ownership
Once a guardian dog has completed her breeding obligations, she is retired from the Belbon Oodles breeding program.
At retirement:
-
All breeding rights are released
-
Full ownership permanently transfers to the guardian family
-
No further obligations apply
Your dog remains exactly where she belongs — in her loving family home.
